Island Krapanj
The small island in the southeastern part of the Šibenik channel, with the area of 0.36 sq. kilometers. The highest point on the island is only seven meters above the sea level. The inhabitants dive for sponges and corals, and work in agriculture. There is a sponge refinery in the village. In the Middle Ages, Krapanj was owned by the chapter of Šibenik, and since 1446 by the Franciscans who built a monastery with a church on the island. The monastery has the renaissance cloister, and in 1626, some additions were built to it. The painting "The Last Supper" in refectory is work of Francesco da Santacroce. There is also the museum of the Adriatic flora and fauna with the collections of amphorae.
