Omis
The small town and port 26 kilometers south - east from Split. It lies on the left coast of the mouth of the river Cetina, not far from its picturesque break-through through the limestone reef. Long sand beaches stretch from Dugi Rat in the west, to Ravnice in the east. In front of low sand coast, west of Omiš, there is a 700 meters long shallow with varying depth, created by sediments of the river Cetina. It was inhabited already in antiquity. In the Middle Ages, Oneum was fortified town. Parts of the defense' walls and the ruins of the fortress Starigrad (Fortica) is what remained of the medieval fortification system. The parish church from the 17th century has beautiful portal and belfry. The small church of Holy Ghost from the 16th century with clock-tower is also preserved. The stairs that lead to the upper part of the town are beside that church. Near the river is the house of Radman family with the collection of stone fragments from the antique, Gothic and renaissance period, and cultural and historical objects from the 18th and 19th century. On the right coast of the river Cetina is the site Priko with small Pre-Romanesque church of St. Peter from the 10th century that has been mentioned in the charts of the rules from the national dynasties period - from the 10th and 11th century.
