Novigrad-Zadar

The town and port on the southern coast of Novigradsko more, 32 kilometers from Zadar. It is becoming more and more important tourist center because of the picturesque landscape and two long narrow sea passages (Novsko and Karinsko ždrilo). There are also two bays with brackish water (because of the vicinity of mouth of the river Zrmanja), that are abundant with fish and shells. In the 13th century it is mentioned as castrum. On the hill above the village, there is a fortress from the 13th century.
