Island Sestrunj
SESTRUNJ, an island in the Zadar archipelago; area 15.4 sq km (length 11 km, width up to 2 km); population 125; the highest peak is Obrucar (186 m). The limestone crest of the north-western part continues to the southeast in two lower ranges of limestone elevation separated by a dolomite valley. Much of the island is covered with macchia and low forests. The largest coves on the south-western coast are Dumbocica and Kablin. Sestrunj is the only settlement. Chief occupations include farming, viniculture, olive-growing and fishing. There is a ship connection with Zadar.
