Plomin

Located on the hill above the eastern coast of Plominska draga (3.4 kilometers long and up to 300 meters wide). At the end of Plominska draga is Plominska luka protected from bura by extended and high promontory Mašnjak (245 m) with belvedere and motel beside the road. Plomin is present in historical sources since 100 BC. It developed on the location of the Illyrian and Roman settlement Flanona. The core of the church of St. Juraj the Old was built in the Romanesque style. On the southern wall there is relief of St. Juraj and the Glagolitic inscription from the 11th - 12th century - the famous Plomin Inscription, one of the oldest Glagolitic monuments in Istria (the original is in church and the copy is on the outside wall). The parish church St. Juraj is the late Gothic building, completed in 1474, with rich inventory.
