Sveti Juraj (Jurjevo)

The place south from Senj, swimming beach with picturesque coves and a camp. It is the starting point for the excursions on the northern part of the Velebit. It was built over the prehistoric settlement and in Roman times it had the status of the municipium (Lopsica). The antique settlement in the course of the time sunk under the sea. The Gothic church on the graveyard and the remains of the defense walls from the 17th century are still preserved.
