Vela Ucka

VELA UCKA, a village in the eastern part of Istria, on Ucka Mountain; elevation 800 m; population 35. Chief occupations are farming and livestock breeding. The village lies on a local road by which it is connected with the main road Rijeka - Ucka Tunnel - Pazin
(M2-1). In the village is the famous inn, visited by numerous tourists. The village also offers an easy access to the Poklon Pass (922 m), only 2 km away, which is traditionally the starting point of ascents to the highest peak of Ucka, Vojak (1,394 m) or the highest peak of Cicarija, Planik (1,272 m).
